Human activity disrupts interaction between birds and plants (seed dispersal).

'Intense' human pressure is 'widespread' among terrestrial animals (the study did not cover birds but it's easy to infer from this that it's terrible for them, too)

Where the logging stops, deforestation becomes worse through illegal clearing in Indonesia (this is one of the worst countries for animals right now...)

New study finds that not all introduced species are bad for environments - some might actually be very beneficial in reducing man-made messes!

Bringing birds back to the farms - Achieving a balance between productive farming and providing a habitat for the birds that originally populated the region (it can be done - we can learn to share the world with animals!)

This is more of a global concern than any specific habitat or ecosystem but an University direct measuring study has found that the US has been grossly underestimating the methane emissions from offshore oil and gas platforms:

A long but very interesting and important article on whether preserving 30% of land and sea on Earth for wilderness is enough to stop the rapid and massive extinction of species (it's calculated that, unless something is done, 1,000,000 -ONE MILLION!- species will become extinct in decades):
