You know how although everybody says that, say, amazons' lifespan is 60 years, you hardly ever find one over 40? Well, this study explains why. Namely, because stress (which is inevitable for pet birds and much more for breeders' birds) hormones affect the development of the embryo in the egg, altering genetic vectors of health, aging and lifespan. How's that for a kick in the head?!
