Fruit is NOT fattening

Postby Pajarita » Wed Nov 11, 2020 10:04 am

I cannot tell you how many people I have heard or read about who claim that fruit has too much sugar for parrots (I had an argument about this same issue with Dr. Harrison, the one that makes the pellets). It is NOT true! Fruit does have sugar but the water and fiber content is also very high so the final effect is not one of fattening - quite the contrary! Fruit is excellent for keeping a good weight and even losing some.
