Breeders' diet

Postby Pajarita » Sat Sep 05, 2020 9:45 am

This is an article about a Palestinian parrot breeder that mentions the diet he feeds them -needless to say, a real bad one: chicken, seeds, eggs, etc.

People often ask the breeder who sold them the baby what to feed it not realizing that a breeding bird does not eat the same things a pet does for the simple reason that breeders want them to breed as often as possible and do not keep any old birds so, as far as they are concerned, their goal for the birds is not the same as a pet parrot keeper who would want a non-hormonal, healthy parrot with a loooong life.
