Mumbai: wetland destruction for airport will harm and kill thousands of birds

Illegal bird killing by land owners is reason for harrier decline in UK (they raise birds for hunting and kill the predators that want to eat them - what an irony, isn't it? They figure it's OK for them to kill them for fun but not OK for the natural predator to kill them for food!):

Not bad news. An VERY nice essay on why it's important to teach people about birds (spoiler alert: because when people learn about them, they also learn to understand and love them and people protect what they love).

Mass vulture deaths, poisoning suspected (people fear and hate vultures but, without them, contagion from disease would spread rampant)

Also, people from Wisconsin, please help the birds that have been migrating back to your neck of the woods because they will not be able to find food after the recent snow storm you've had:

Wild birds exposure to bad pesticide (seeds are treated with neocotinoids, the family of pesticides that kill bees and found to cause neurological damage to children that were banned by the Obama Admin but brought back by the current admin) is confirmed by blood test:

28 Federally protected migrating birds dead - they shot them while they were on the nests and destroyed the eggs! Now, I ask you, what kind of soul-less monsters do that?! Hunters have such a degree of wanton disregard for life that borders in sociopathy! Normal human beings should not find pleasure in killing a defenseless animal... And they took pictures of themselves, proudly showing the carnage they had created, all dressed up as if they were soldiers fighting a war... only the 'enemy' was just a poor bird sitting on its nest! Taking away their hunting licenses is not enough - they should be jailed for a few years, at least.

Facebook page with their pictures (faces were blacked out but they should have shown them AND give their names to the public - evil doesn't deserve protection):

50 birds died when they landed in oil tailing ponds in Canada (I don't understand why this is still happening... why don't they just install netting over them?)
