I couldn't really decide if to put this in the 'good news' or the 'bad news'... Tesla Gigafactory in Germany is going to be razing forest for the building so Tesla is going to be moving all the wildlife in the area (birds and bats, included). The birds, of course, will not actually be moved, they will be building nest boxes for them to make up for the trees where they would have nested but, in truth, I don't know if this will be enough...

Amazonia is on its way to become a source of carbon instead of a 'filter' for it.

Dozens of domesticated pigeons (they cannot make it on their own) rescued from Golden Gate park after been abandoned:

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/dozen ... r-BB10u0MQ

More than half the racing pigeons on the South Africa race are missing (and it has been already four weeks so these birds are all, most likely, dead). On a personal note, I know a few pigeon breeders (from ABBA where I get my supplies) and I can attest to the fact that the poor things are one of the most abused animals in the world! Even the good breeders are not good to them because all they care about is winning, there is no love for the animal at all (they regularly 'cull' the ones that are not very good and that means killing them).

Using ambulance sirens to scare off birds because the residents are worried that the poop they leave behind will sicken them -when it has been proven that there is nothing bad in bird poop! And, mind you, we are not talking about big Canadian geese or anything like that - we are talking little passerines like sparrows, etc. Most people are not only ignorant but also terribly intolerant and self-centered, aren't they?

https://www.wymt.com/content/news/Ambul ... 69301.html

This one is not about anybody doing anything bad to birds but to show how little people know about birds... Most likely the birds approached the vehicle looking for food.
