What brings you here?

Postby Michael » Wed Apr 20, 2011 11:24 am

Just curious about how folks have come across The Parrot Forum. Did you hear about The Parrot Forum from someone? Or did my blog or youtube channel convince you to join? Were you searching the web specifically for a parrot community to join? Or did you simply search for general parrot information which led you to this site? Or did you get linked to The Parrot Forum from an unrelated website?

In any case, describe what got you to stick around? Or are you one of those people that can't help being on every single parrot forum imaginable? This is your chance to share your story of why you are here.

I joined because I couldn't tell whether my budgie's tongue was bleeding or if he dyed it a la cuttlebone. After frantic searches, I found this forum and a post about someone else's bird's tongue bleeding.

I stuck around because I hadn't really had any good information about my birds. The local PetCo wasn't helpful and/or wasn't knowledgable. I was so outraged that they told me to remove all food from my budgies cage until they were so hungry they'd eat anything that I called to complain and swore I'd never go back in there. The information here was much more helpful than anyone else I've talked to.

i simply searched for 'parrot forum'. i first joined another one but for some reason didnt stick with that one. than i searched again and came across this one. i stayed because of all the usefull information and that its so organized and easy to find. people are also usually friendly but first off its definitly because of all the information. as a first time parrot owner it is vital to be able to find information fast and be able to ask for advice.

and ofcourse it helps a lot that there are tons of great videos on this forum :D

I honestly can't remember why I came here. I have accounts on a few other forums, but I don't really post- I just have them as reading sources for information.

I was doing general information searches, but also interested in finding a forum. I stick around because I've gotten kind of fond of the people, really. It's a good balance of approaches and people manage to disagree without too much rancor, at least most of the time. It's lower traffic than the other forum I was really drawn to, so it's manageable to keep up, sorta.

If I remember right, I think I was invited by you.

Why I stay? Good question (not said in a sarcastic tone, I swear!). Although I haven't been posting much lately I still do read threads :)

Still interesting things being talked about and I try to help when I can.

I was looking to quit living in a bubble as the crazy animal lady. I'm pretty antisocial and have poor social skills. So, I'm probably the one here annoying everyone - gettin' all up in yer face an' stuff.
