hello everyone
we are new to the forum and wanted to introduce ourselves we are the birdybunch. we have six beautiful birds in our flock two Cockatiels named Dante and Zero two Parrotlets named Blue and Mr. Pickles one Gold Capped Conure named Tango and a baby Meyers who's name will be Kit if he is a boy or Sansa if she is a girl. Welcome to the forum, Birdy Bunch! If I may make a suggestion... parrots understand and use the concept of proper names so waiting until you know the gender of a parrot to call it one name or another is not a good idea UNLESS you find a name that can be used for both genders (like Sam or Alex or Charlie, for example) because once they learn one name, that is the name they will respond to for the rest of their lives - and they learn this name when they are babies.

Great! :thumbsup: Below is an article on the study that showed that parrot parents name their babies in the nest and that the babies continue using the same name for the rest of their lives.
