Vocalization changes

Postby Pajarita » Sat Jun 20, 2020 9:05 am

This is an article on a study done on passerines which says that different populations have different dialects and that they change once there has been a fire... but I wonder if this happens with parrots, too. We do know that budgies have different dialects going by the different geographical locations of the populations and that males from one population will learn the female's dialect in order to 'woo' her but do their vocalizations change after a dramatic change in habitat and does this happen when they are rehomed in captivity? They hardly ever do studies on parrots...
