Endangered swift parrots favor sons despite female shortage (the scientist attributes this to the fact that the females are getting eaten by sugar gliders but, going by all that I have read about birds, it seems to me that the fact that their natural habitats and their resources are disappearing -making it harder for them to survive- they are choosing the males because they are stronger -birds always produce more males than females when the environmental conditions are not ideal)
